Switching To Astro

I decided to try to learn astro in my spare time, so I launched my new website! Huzzah!

In the past, I’ve only used astro when contributing to the v2 Tauri documentation. I kept seeing it pop up everywhere, so I decided to give it a shot. That being said, I’m pleasantly surprised how it works out of the box. When I tried Next.js I really ran into a lot of struggles getting it to deploy properly. Things as simple as links were broken on Netlify, which wasn’t fixed until June 2024 (and opened in 2023!)

I love Nuxt, but I did not really want to use Vue for this project since I wanted to lean more into the writing part of things.

Lastly, I was looking for a potential replacement for Wordpress. While I don’t know if this is ready just yet to replace WP for most people, it seems like it could be a great step in that direction for everyone else.
